I think I (finally) have all different colors of translucent scales that exist. Anyone know of any others? In 91mm, that is?
Edit (2020-11-28): there are roughly twice as many translucent scale colors in 91mm, including the Climber Gold edition, green and orange from the Color Twins sets, different shades of teal (for Motorex and Rittmeyer), translucent black (unlike the two onyx ones in the picture), bright (lime) green for BLS, etc. I do have an updated post on these translucent scale colors showing some of them.
I know other colors exist in 58mm and 84mm.
If you expose the darker blue version to sun light for some weeks, you can convert it into the light blue version or something in between. :)
In my experience, the red color stays the same, but the blue will fade.
That’s quite interesting. So now I need another Sapphire one to experiment on :)
BTW are you Urs Wyss? ;)
Reinier
No, I’m not Urs Wyss. :-) I sell Victorinox knives in a shop. Actually, not all translucent blue knives seem to fade. In fluorescent light, for example a CyberTool 34 and a “My First Victorinox” faded, while a Mountaineer Lite and a Huntsman didn’t fade.
Maybe Victorinox changed the “formula” of the translucent blue handles in the meantime, and newer knives are no more affected.
Theres this mexican edition translucent black, not brown, not onyx but black
Thank you and yes, you are right. I have posted a few newer articles about other translucent colors. Including that nice Mexican Fieldmaster: https://vicfan.com/2020/12/victorinox-fieldmaster-mexico/
