Continue readingI mainly collect 74mm and 91mm SAKs, but somehow I now own more 93mm alox SAKs than I thought I would. I have bought and sold/traded several more in the past (including a 2010 Damascus Pioneer, colored Classics, Farmers and Cadets, and of course a million Dutch Army Knives), and there is a mint old cross Pioneer in a sealed display case that is not in the picture. I’m not an expert on 93mm SAKs but these are: green Farmer,
Continue readingLook closely or you may not see them :)These two SAKs feature a rather cool camo pattern made by Mossy Oak. It’s called New Break-Up and each knife uses a different/random part of the whole camo image. The scales feel a bit like paper, I have no idea what material they are made out of and what kind of printing technique is used. They may or may not be cellidor or nylon. Continue readingI finally found the sixth Ambassador from the RocKnives collection :) It took me a couple of years to find all six:
Continue readingLatest additions to the 74mm family: a yellow Executive with an Emmentaler logo and a black Ambassador sans shield & cross. I am usually not interested in knives with company logos, but I think this yellow one is quite nice. You cannot tell from the pictures, but it looks like the previous owner sanded away some sort of company name or inscription on the back of the Ambassador.
Continue readingThis is an Elinox Standard with black cellidor scales. I had never seen black scales with the vintage awl before. Does anyone recognize the logo?
Continue readingA couple of Canadian Flag Classics. There’s no fun in just ordering those online; I actually bought them in Canada.
Continue readingCheck out this custom made Pioneer with scissors, hard anodized scales and liners, black oxide tools, custom torx screws and a stainless steel pocket clip. Made by a Canadian guy named Syph007. He even makes his own custom backsprings for the scissors layer! Awesome.
